about The Nia Center
Welcome!
We invite you to come and browse Chester's newest "Cultural
Headquarters" and hope that you will have time for a guided tour by
one of our staff.
Our goal
is to provide a local facility for the exhibition of art with related
presentations, providing cultural awareness and enrichment to the community.
Our commitment is also for the development of supportive services to nurture
and promote the arts. We are delighted to have this opportunity to serve our
community and truly consider it a blessing as we celebrate our third year as a
gallery!
This
cultural effort began in the summer of 2001 with art classes being held in a
garage on the west end of Chester, which we transformed into an art center.
During our 2nd phase, we opened a gallery in the fall and relocated to 29 East
5th St., 2nd floor. We are currently in our 3rd phase with the expansion of
our programs in this 2-story facility comprised of more than 7800 sq. ft. of
space at 419 Edgmont Ave., Chester, PA.
Our
facility is loaded with a unique collection of originals, prints and limited
editions from around the world, although we especially take pride in
highlighting the talents of our local artists. Authentic artifacts, cultural
clothing and one-of-a-kind gifts are also available.
Be sure
to join our e-mail list to receive information on
upcoming events and hear of ways that you can become a Patron of the Arts!
